Bush Retreat
This property in Kenthurst was given a complete external makeover to create an inviting bush retreat. Generous outdoor living spaces were designed in harmony with the bush setting, while the overall existing structure was given a contemporary look and feel.
The first part of this project saw new external wall linings and construction of new window and door openings to allow more natural light inside. A wide front entrance was built with natural stone steps and landing. In addition to the external work, two new bathrooms were built inside.
The existing deck, pergola and vegetation were demolished and cleared to make way for a brand new hardwood deck. The large deck was built around the existing pool, connecting it to the house, and creating access to the rear yard with a new external staircase. A pavilion style pergola now extends from the house to cover the main deck area. The pergola features stainless steel structural rods, hardwood feature ridge and a long hardwood slab sit-up bar.
Landscaping in the yard consisted of new planter boxes, outdoor shower and privacy wall plus outdoor tiling with decorative pebble surface drains, and complete re-surfacing and tiling of the pool. A freestanding, double carport was constructed, while the existing concrete driveway was pulled up and resurfaced with stencil-crete.
