Highlands Hideaway
It was a case of ‘out with the old and in with the new’ for this highlands hideaway. The road to contemporary, spacious living began with a complete internal demolition and strip-out. The floor plan was completely redesigned, with most internal walls relocated to maximise space and add storage.
As you step into this house, the spacious feel is evident thanks to a newly expanded front entry. New windows and external wall openings created in the rear of the house take full advantage of the sweeping countryside views.
The main bathroom was redesigned with a large walk in shower, while an additional ensuite bathroom was constructed for the guest bedroom. Clever cabinetry was installed in the new kitchen, providing generous storage without compromising floor space.
Installation of internal glass French doors presented a beautiful yet practical solution, allowing rooms to be closed off for heat retention during the cooler months, without losing the shared natural light from other zones. Solid timber flooring throughout the family areas, hallway and entry replaced old carpeted floors, while new carpet was laid in formal areas.
The addition of a covered deck off the rear of the house creates an indoor/outdoor area and the perfect place to enjoy the surrounding Southern Highlands landscape.
