Outdoor Entertaining
An all-season, outdoor living and entertaining area was the end goal for the owners of this Annangrove property, with stylistic consideration given to the surrounding bush setting.
Construction of a new wing to connect the split-level house with the detached garage marked the beginning of this project. The new wing includes a bedroom, bathroom, laundry and living area, featuring a mini-bar and new entrance. Three large skylights provide abundant light to the space, while remote blinds allow for complete darkness when the living area is used as a media room.
With the end goal in mind, an outdoor pavilion and cabana was constructed to wrap around the existing pool. Bi-fold and sliding doors allow for the space to be completely open during warm, sunny days or completely sealed off when the weather takes a turn. Ceiling fans and an outdoor fireplace were installed to accomodate for all temperatures.
The pavilion features natural sandstone walling, travertine tiling, thickset hardwood posts and high louvered windows for air flow. The cabana includes a full outdoor kitchen with stone bench tops and a commercial beer fridge with L.E.D lighting. A separate toilet and outdoor shower complete this outdoor haven.
